The Call History Application is recommended for the large-display sets (5320/5320e, 5330/5330e, 5340/5340e, 5360) and the 5560 IPT. It's also available on 69xx IP Phones but works differently than its counterpart on 53xx/5560 devices. For other sets, use the Call History for 5xxx Phones and 5660 IPT.
For the supported devices, the Call History Application logs outgoing calls and all incoming missed and answered calls.
Once the call limit (50) has been reached, the oldest record is replaced as each new one is received.
Users can display the following call information:
if available, name of the caller (incoming calls)
called party name (outgoing calls)
start time and duration of the call
number of calls involving the same number with time of last attempt
type of call (all, missed, answered, made, incoming, outgoing)
On 69xx IP Phones, call information is condensed to a single entry for calls with the same caller or calling party ID. The entry shows a count of calls that occurred during a given day and the time of the most recent call.
Depending on the amount of storage space available for call history records, the user can expand the single entry to see details on all calls for a given call ID or details on the last call only. Where space is limited, only one record is kept for each call ID within a category (e.g., missed calls). If there's more space, a separate record is kept for each day which the user can expand to see details of each call. Storage space for call history records is defined in the Dimension Selection form.
Users can
filter their record views by call type
delete old records after they have viewed them
return missed calls by pressing a softkey
copy selected entries to the Personal folder in the Contacts application (69xx IP Phone only).
insert ARS prefix digits required to make external calls (users can also add or subtract prefix digits manually).
NOTE: You can program the system to insert an Outgoing Dialing Prefix, saving the user from having to enter it. See Programming below for details.
For more information, see the appropriate device's User Guide on Document Center.
A call is only logged at the phone whose prime line is called. For example, if a phone with prime line 2000 answers an incoming call to multicall extension 2001, the call is only logged at the phone whose prime line is 2001.
Calls can be initiated from the Call History records.
Call History is not recorded for calls related to ACD Silent Monitoring.
Up to 50 call records can be stored with the Call History Application (regardless of the number that is programmed in the "Call History - Default Call History records" field in the System Options form). Once the 50-call limit has been reached, the oldest record is replaced as each new one is received.
The Call History time displays the local time zone of the phone. For example, if a receiver in the time zone GMT+11, answers an incoming call from the time zone GMT-5, the call history time that is displayed on the receiver's phone matches the local time of the receiver (that is, GMT+11).
